NASA Mars Rover 3D model

Hi!
Before explaining, congratulations on the successful Mars landing of NASA's "Insight"!

The 3D modeling we will introduce today is also related to nasa.

It is a concept car made by parkerbrothersconcepts.

The exact name is unclear because it is a concept. I simply call it the NASA Concept Mars Rover.

The NASA-related rover is currently on display at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.

These are the pictures I used to refer to when I modeled.
It was difficult to find related pictures than I thought.

We started modeling with SolidWorks 2016.

I thought it took a long time. And looking at the records, I've been working on plans since October 2017.

Let's look at the whole exterior!

Does the overall feel a bit like a batmobile? How about you?

According to the search, the body part is divided into front and back.

The front part is used for the exploration and the rear part is used for the lab.

I did this too :)

I could not find any information clearly about how the rear end is divided. But is not it possible to divide the whole rear side only by this method? I think this.

Also, in the rear laboratory part, there are only two wheels, so I made a supporting part to balance.

Unfortunately, there was no adequate space around the legs, so it was impossible to model and characterize the cylinder.

So realistically, I think it's impossible to support with a cylinder.

Next, I changed the wheel a little bit more.

I brought this picture here.

The wheel seems to have a special appearance, but I do not particularly drive it.

Here I wanted to put some fun features.

Do you look like a Stainless Steamer?

The principles seem to be similar.

But the fixed parts are opposite.
In addition, it is different in that there is not a crank plate that can support the center shaft without being hindered even if it is impacted externally.

I think it is actually impossible to look like it is actually possible with graphics.

Next inside view.

This is the cockpit of the exploration department.

To be honest, it took a long time and made it simple ...
Still, the display part was expressed as key shot 6 ...

Rear lab part.

This part was also treated with glass.

We plan to make additional modifications later if we have time.

Finally, it is a rendered photo and video.

This photo has been downloaded from the NASA homepage!

Below is the original picture.

It was NASA Mars Rover so far!

+ In addition, we are planning a retrofit modeling of Mars Rover and The Bet in 2019.
Because I am going to change the computer according to the work specifications.

Mercedes Benz 'Biome'

Today I introduce concept car 3D modeling, which I felt very fresh in my life.

Mercedes-Benz Biome.
3D modeling with Solidworks 2016, rendered with keyshot 6.
The Biome is the Mercedes Benz 2010 Concept Car, Lee Il Hwan, a Korean designer, took charge.

These are the pictures that I refer to when I made 3D modeling.

There was a lot of unfamiliar parts in the concept car.

So it took some time to collect information.

Fortunately, asphalt 8 included a Biome in a racing game, so I was able to understand the shape smoothly.

This 3D model has three representative Characteristic.

First, because the theme is natural, it is a curvy design. That's why I was able to learn more about Solidworks 3D sketching.

However, it is difficult to fully describe the bend. Therefore, there is a slight difference from the original Biome model.

In addition to the curved shape, the shape of the wheel was also fresh.

This is the second feature.

The design of the wheel is the shape of the bell.
I think this is very attractive.

Unfortunately, it is said that it can not actually be driven.

The third feature is the Gull wing Body.

Designer Lee il Hwan came up with a way to move the entire body, not the door, in the Gull wing Door way.

So it was hard to model.

Because the body moves, the rear bumper and the wheels come into contact ...
I think it takes a long time to fix this.
I have no choice so, I was forced to go ahead.

If you remove the body, you will get some unexpected shape.

It is like the bone of a creature.

At first it seemed too difficult to express. So I tried not to work.

However, I thought that I had to create an internal frame as well as a body.

It was difficult ...

Rendering pictures.

Finally, animation, rendering video.

The video below is a 32x image of the production process.
It is a video that lacks the workability somewhat.
